Mr Lance Schultz
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Lance Schultz specialises in logistics development, strategies, business case development and operational management. Furthermore he has strong Project Management skills and leadership experience. He is currently employed at the Centurion Aviation Village as its CEO. Formerly Mr Schultz was the MD for the Automotive Industry Development Centre with 23 years’ experience in Automotive and Supplier Park Development. He had formerly worked for Mercedes Benz SA as an Industrial Engineer and had undertaken new model introduction as well as several Lean Manufacturing projects.
Currently Mr Schultz holds member status at the SA Institute of Industrial Engineers, SAPICS and the Supply Chain Council.
Mr. Schultz holds a B. Tech Degree (Operations Man.) from the NMMU and a B.Sc Honours (Industrial Eng.) from Pretoria University. He also holds a MBA from the NMMU. The title of his Master’s thesis was based on Supply Chain Excellence and is titled, “The impact of supply chains in automotive clusters”. Mr Schultz also holds a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt as well as being a qualified Total Productive Maintenance Facilitator.
He has also received a merit award at the NMMU for outstanding academic achievement in 2006 and is a member of Golden Key International Honour Society. Mr Schultz is also a registered professional engineer with ECSA. In addition he has done several Lean Manufacturing and Project Management courses. Mr Schultz has also lectured part-time at NMMU’s Industrial Engineering faculty for a number of years.
Mr Zirk Jansen
Executive Business Development
Zirk Jansen holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) Degree in Transport Economics. He has also completed courses in Industrial Marketing, Production Management and Business Logistics. He is experienced in a variety of business disciplines having held management positions in Logistics, Procurement, Marketing, Sales and Business Development within the Automotive Sector as well as the public sector and now also the Aerospace, Defence and Advanced Manufacturing Sectors.
He has experience in various-scale projects from conceptualization, inception through to completion. He worked on high value, high impact strategic infrastructure projects across South Africa such as the Automotive Supplier Park in Rosslyn, the Nelson Mandela Bay Logistics Park in Uitenhage, the Automotive Supplier Park in East London IDZ. He also has extensive experience in management of departments such as Logistics, Supply Chain Development and Business Development.
His current experience takes him into Senior/Executive Management where responsibilities included managing Sector Development as well as Business Development and Marketing.
Mr Edwin Mtshali
Edwin Bongumusa Mtshali holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering. He has also completed a B Tech Degree in Civil Engineering (specialising in Construction Management) as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management. He recently completed the first year of studies (course work) towards a Master of Management qualification with a mini dissertation outstanding towards finishing the Masters’ degree.
He has 15 years of working experience within the engineering and construction industry. His experience ranges from a construction company, quantity surveying & project management consultants, social infrastructure department of a water board, CAPEX implementation within another water board up to working for a private water services company in Operations & Maintenance of water infrastructure for a District Municipality. He joined the CAV on 1 February 2017 as an Operations Manager.
